High Chair Shenanigans

Yup while he is still able to, he loves to put his leg on the high chair table. A big no-no but oh so cute!

Blueberry Yoghurt Lolly

There are some days when I am desperate. Desperate because M had spat out all the food that I had cooked. Although you hear it time and time again "nevermind just let them drink milk" I give a last ditch effort to get some nutrients into his body. I make these lollies which are made out of all natural ingredients.

Ingredients :

  • Blueberries ( but I have made these with strawberries, raspberries, bananas)
  • Yoghurt ( I used greek yoghurt for its higher fat content)
Utensils :
  • Ice cream moulds
Method :
  • Blend the blueberries ( for older kids, whole fruits can be dropped into the moulds)
  • Mix in yoghurt ( you can create a layered look by putting the berries into the mould first, freeze for a short while then add in the yoghurt)
  • Pour into moulds and freeze overnight ( unless you have a zoku mould)
Verdict :

M loved it!

Ice cream sticks and pom poms

One of the activities that M quite enjoyed was this. Just sticking ice cream sticks and pom poms to a sticky film on the sliding door. You can stick so many things on this sticky film. When your kid is older it can even turn into a story telling "board" with laminated cutouts of animals, plants etc. He has stuck googly eyes, pipe cleaners and shaped post-it notes on this film too.

Tuna Hearts

Ok I am backtracking a great extent as I have procrastinated and not updated this blog. I will catch up with all the pictures I had taken previously. This is really simple to make and I know and have read of some super mums who do the really cute themed bento boxes for kids but by the end of the day I am so tired, this recipe helps.

Ingredients :
  • store bought frozen puff pastry
  • tuna
  • mayo or yoghurt
Utensils :
  • Cookie cutter
  • Fork
Method
  • Thaw the puff pastry till it is somewhat pliable ( but not too soft)
  • Drain the canned tuna and mix in a little mayo
  • Cut the puff pastry into shapes using cookie cutters
  • Place tuna filling onto one piece of pastry and cover with the other
  • Use a fork to seal the sides
  • Brush the top of the pastry with beaten egg
  • Bake in preheated oven at 180C for about 15 minutes
Verdict :

M ate some of it. He liked the crispy texture of the pastry and tasted a little of the tuna. Can make again.
